Good Morning, Franklin.
Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Franklin Buzz. I appreciate every one of you being here.
You are part of history. Years from now, as your grandkids sit on your lap listening to your stories, you can tell them that you were part of a special group of people who received the first edition of The Buzz.
As a reminder, the mission is simple: to keep you connected to what matters in Franklin.
Happy Leap Day and happy 16th birthday to Tony Robbins. Happy birthday to anyone reading this who was born on February 29th. That’s one way to stay young.
In today’s email:
• Community: New businesses coming to town
• Events: Art Crawl and Superhero Sunday
• Live Music: Over 20 spots to jam out this weekend
• City News: “Do you have 2 minutes for a brief survey?”
Let’s get to it.

COMMUNITY HIGHLIGHTS
🌮 Tequila, Tacos, and Tio Fun: Translated to “fun uncle,” Tio Fun is a fast-casual Mexican food spot that has experienced success in the Buchanan Arts District in Nashville. In May, they’re coming to Franklin and will be located at 901 Columbia Ave in the former Izzy’s Franklin space.
🧥 Shop ‘til You Drop: The popular international clothing retailer, Primark, is making the move to Franklin this year. They recently signed a lease at the CoolSprings Galleria but haven’t announced an opening date yet.
🍷 Wine and Cheese? Yes Please: Congratulations to The Board Room Charcuterie Wine Bar which just opened up in Westhaven. Charcuterie is one of my wife’s love languages so we’ll be here daily.
🍓 So Fresh and So Clean: There are new owners in town at Clean Juice Cool Springs. I spoke with them recently and they are good people. Go swing by if you’re looking for some high-quality, organic food and juices.
🍽️ Did we just become best friends? Over 50% of Americans reported feeling lonely. It’s an epidemic. If you’re a woman who wants more friends, check out Our Gathering Table. It’s free to join.

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW FRANKLIN?
Question: The city of Franklin was originally going to be called what?
Marthasville.
The founder of Franklin, Abram Maury, intended to name the city after his wife Martha. She humbly declined the offer.
Selfishly, I appreciate her turning it down as the “The Marthasville Buzz” doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.
