Early Spring, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, & More

Your guide to staying connected in Franklin, TN
Good Morning Franklin.
In case you missed it on Sunday, Punxsutawney Phil, the most famous groundhog in the world, saw his shadow. According to legend, this means we’re destined for six more weeks of winter.
Well, fortunately for all of us, Punxsutawney Phil is accurate only 35% of the time. This ranks him second to last in accuracy rating out of 18 groundhogs.
Two of the most accurate groundhogs, Staten Island Chuck (85% accurate) and Jimmy the Groundhog (60% accurate), both predict an early spring.
That’s all I needed to hear to put my winter clothes away. Don’t let me down Chuck and Jimmy.

OneGenAway’s Spring Breakfast
New York Times bestselling author Bob Goff will take center stage as the featured speaker at One Generation Away’s 2025 Spring Breakfast fundraiser. The public is invited to the free event on Friday, May 2nd, at Liberty Hall in the Factory at Franklin. The breakfast buffet begins when the doors open at 6am, with the program starting at 7am.
This annual fundraising event supports OneGenAway in its efforts to rescue food from grocery stores, restaurants, farmers and caterers and distribute it to neighbors experiencing food insecurity through mobile food pantries. Guests will hear from Goff as well as OneGenAway’s co-founder, Chris Whitney.
OneGenAway – recently recognized as the 24th largest nonprofit in Tennessee by The Business Journals – achieved record-breaking success in 2024, distributing 10.5 million pounds of food to those in need. This massive effort translated to 8.7 million meals for families across Tennessee, Alabama and Florida.
To RSVP for OneGenAway’s 2025 Spring Breakfast, visit the nonprofit’s Eventbrite page. To make a tax-deductible donation to OneGenAway or learn more about their upcoming mobile food pantries, visit onegenaway.com.
