šŸ Valentine's Activities

Chocolate Festival, Country Concert, & More

Your guide to staying connected in Franklin, TN

Greetings Franklin.

I hope everyone enjoyed that boring Super Bowl Sunday evening.

We are only a few days away from Valentineā€™s Day, also known as the 10th most popular holiday in America.

One poll found that around 58% of U.S. adults donā€™t think Valentineā€™s Day is a real special occasion. However, 30% believe that it is.

As you can see in the chart below, Americans rank it below every other major holiday ā€”even Labor Day!

That being said, this is no excuse to not show your significant other some extra special love if Valentineā€™s Day is meaningful to them.

Governor Lee Delivers 2025 State of the State Address
Yesterday, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee delivered his seventh State of the State address, outlining his budget and legislative priorities for the coming year to a joint session of the General Assembly and the people of Tennessee.

Thanks to Tennesseeā€™s strong tradition of responsible fiscal management, the state is in a solid budgetary position, paving the way for investments that will drive continued success. Leeā€™s proposed $59.5 billion budget includes targeted funding to promote economic and educational opportunity, strengthen families, protect our natural resources, and more.

Some highlights:

- The Tennessee Highway Patrol is set to receive $37.9 million to fund 100 new state troopers, bringing the total number of troopers to 1,044.

- The Tennessee Department of Transportation estimates that the state has $30 billion in unmet road needs. Leeā€™s budget proposes allocating $1 billion to the stateā€™s road fund.

- For emergency response, the budget includes $275 million for the construction of a new emergency operations center.

Redbird Common, a bimonthly songwritersā€™ round, was founded by Rebecca Jones in 2017. It has grown from unassuming beginnings in a local cafĆ© to this prominent theater in Franklin. Each event features GRAMMY-winning artists and emerging talent alike. Anchored in the stories behind the songs, this event fosters an intimate environment where artists and songwriters share their work in an acoustic setting, offering audiences a unique experience behind the veil of the songs they know, connecting deeper to the message of the songs. Click Here to get tickets.
