BUZZWORTHY NEWS
BNA New Horizon: Building on the success of BNA Vision, which wrapped up in February 2024, New Horizon marks the next chapter in Nashville International Airport's ongoing transformation.
Following the design phase that began in 2022, New Horizon will cost an additional $1.5 billion and will be phased in over six years with an expected completion in late 2028.
New Horizon’s plans include:
Concourse A Rebuild
Concourse D Extension
Terminal Roadway Improvements
Baggage Handling System Improvements
New Air Freight Building
BNA receives no local tax dollars. Consistent with all airport capital improvement projects, funding comes from bonds, federal and state aviation grants, Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs) and other airport funds.
Nevada Bakery taking over spot formerly occupied by Americana Taphouse: Perenn Bakery, out of Nevada, has announced an expansion to Tennessee in the Spring of 2025. The first location will be 94 E Main Street in Downtown Franklin (formerly Americana Taphouse) with a second location in the state that has yet to be announced. Owned by Aubrey and Tyler O’Laskey, Perenn Bakery is committed to using ingredients from local farms, minimizing waste, and creating welcoming spaces that cater to families. They shared that the Franklin location will host fun events like sourdough-making classes and exciting collaborations with local businesses and artists. Check out the menu from their flagship store in Nevada.
Tio Fun had its Grand Opening this weekend. Translated to “fun uncle,” Tio Fun is a fast-casual Mexican food spot that has experienced success in the Buchanan Arts District in Nashville. They’re located at 901 Columbia Ave in the former Izzy’s Franklin space.
