BUZZWORTHY NEWS
rendering of Oracle’s future Nashville Campus
🏢 Oracle Making Moves: Oracle CEO Larry Ellison announced that Nashville will serve as the company’s global Headquarters. He shared that the move to Nashville was driven by the city’s healthcare industry as well as employee interest. The site is expected to have restaurants, hotels, and a concert venue. Also, Oracle plans to build a pedestrian bridge to connect both sides of the river. Oracle seeks to create about 8,500 local jobs by 2031 via the $1.35 billion development of the 70 acres it owns at River North. Oracle was home to about 722 Nashville employees at the end of 2023. Construction has not yet begun on Oracle’s new offices and company officials have said the offices will be open by 2030. Oracle is the world’s 29th largest public company, with a market cap of about $315 billion.
🏛️ Meeting of the Mayors: Franklin Tomorrow's popular Breakfast With the Mayors, will be held Tuesday, April 30, when Franklin Mayor Dr. Ken Moore and Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson will welcome the mayors of Williamson County's cities to join them for a summit. Invited are Brentwood Mayor Mark Gorman, Fairview Mayor Lisa Anderson, Nolensville Mayor Halie Gallik, Spring Hill Mayor Jim Hagaman, and Thompson's Station Mayor Brian Stover. Each mayor will offer insight into their community and give an update on projects and other aspects of government. Click here to RSVP for this free event.
🚓 The Franklin Police Dept is stepping up its enforcement of the state's hands-free law. Handheld phone use is prohibited while driving in Tennessee. Penalties range from $50-$200. But it’s not just about avoiding a ticket—it’s about staying alive. For 99.9% of us, driving is the most dangerous thing we do every day. Distracted driving increases our risks substantially.
