Happy Monday Franklin.
Did anyone else see the northern lights this weekend? It was quite the spectacle.
I guess I can cancel my trip to see the northern lights in Norway.

BUZZWORTHY NEWS
Cool Springs Galleria opening in 1991 (there was no ribbon-cutting ceremony as ribbons had not even been invented yet)
Cool Springs Galleria Glow-Up: CBL Properties, the developer and owner of the mall, and RaganSmith Associates, have proposed a new development on the campus that will include over 75,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, 600 apartment units, and a 120-room hotel. The SVP of CBL said they want to “complement and modernize” the existing property. The project will take part over six phases and will include the addition of open green spaces. Cool Springs Galleria opened in 1991 and with more than one million feet of retail space and over 150 stores, it’s the largest mall in Tennessee. There were over 5.5 million visits to the mall last year. Next up for the project is a review by the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission and Board of Mayor and Aldermen. Harlinsdale Pedestrian Bridge is now open. The bridge connects the Chestnut Bend neighborhood, Hillsboro Road and Franklin High School to the Park. The total cost of the project was $4.4 million, with $3.2 million funded through the Transportation Alternative Program Funds (TAP) with assistance from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The bridge is 220 feet long and 12 feet wide. The Project also includes concrete stamping of a portion of the path in tribute to the Franklin-Nashville Interurban rail road, ADA upgrades, pedestrian lighting, and bike racks. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with city leaders will be held this Wednesday at 1pm.
The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County announced the 2024 Sites to Save list. The purpose of the list is to identify historic places in Williamson County that are vulnerable to demolition, development, or neglect. For each site on the list, the Heritage Foundation staff commits to: (i) Attend relevant public meetings, (ii) consult with willing property owners and municipalities about the history of the property and offer insight on preservation and restoration, and (iii) connect willing property owners with construction and preservation experts related to the needs of the site.
