Handel’s Ice Cream Shop Opens
Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream opened its first location in Franklin this past Thursday at Meridian Cool Springs development just off Carothers Parkway. On Friday, Williamson Inc held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially welcome Handel’s to the Franklin community.

Complete with a walk-up window for customers, Handel’s will reside in the jewel box building on Meridian Cools Springs’ recently completed The Green, which sits near the corner of Carothers and Meridian Blvd. The ice cream shop will feature a stunning mural honoring the city of Franklin by renowned muralist Eric “Mobe” Bass. The mural continues an unofficial collaboration between Boyle Investment Company (developers of Meridian Cool Springs) and Mobe, whose work can be found at multiple Boyle-owned properties in and around Nashville.

A 5,000-square-foot public green space with comfortable outdoor seating will connect Handel’s to Little Hats Italian Market, a Germantown-based eatery set to open its first Franklin location in Meridian Cool Springs this winter. The highly accessible, mixed-use district welcomes working professionals, visitors and area residents to step outside and enjoy all that Meridian Cool Springs has to offer. A grand opening celebration – complete with exciting giveaways – will soon be announced. Check out the local flavors here.


Family Day at The Park at Harlinsdale Farm
In Celebration of 20th year of The Park at Harlinsdale Farm and the 225th year of the founding of Franklin, Tennessee. Franklin Parks’ Family Day offers many opportunities for families to have a great time on this historical farm. This free festival features miniature train rides, hayrides, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Festival attendees can also enjoy cane pole fishing in the pond. Don't miss the Touch-a-Tractor area, which will consist of small excavators the kids can operate and large tractors the kids can sit on. This year we will have our returning special guest the Gary Sinise Foundation, where The LT. Dan Band will be performing on stage along with their opening act Five For Fighting.

Parking: There will be parking at the South and North Entrance of the Park. Motorcycles will be allowed to park along the gravel fence line (please follow directional signs).

Tractor Supply Arena: Many Equestrian related events will be held in the arena starting at 11am, Sponsored by Friends of Franklin Parks.
Food Trucks: Available for purchase from 10am -4pm.

Etch Opening
Etch in The Factory is now open! Etch is a globally-inspired restaurant by award-winning chef Deb Paquette. The original location opened its doors in 2012 in downtown Nashville; The modern restaurants each house two private dining rooms, a full bar, and a chef’s bar, giving guests a look into Chef Deb and her teams’ culinary prowess.

Etch’s eclectic menu incorporates innovative dishes inspired by Deb’s favorite regions of the world to leave a lasting impression, or etch, on every diner. A wine list with over 80 choices is available, along with high-gravity local beers and hand-crafted signature cocktails. Desserts are prepared in-house by Pastry Chef Megan Williams, whose creations top the list for the city’s sweet confections. House-made ice creams and artfully plated desserts change seasonally, providing a revolving array of treats that will keep you coming back for more.
