BUZZWORTHY NEWS

Main Street Festival The Downtown Franklin festival put on by The Heritage Foundation will take place this weekend, April 27 - 28, from 10am - 6pm on both days. There will be live music, arts and crafts, food and drinks, a kid zone, and more. This annual tradition brings in over 120,000 people and is consistently listed among the top 20 events in the Southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.

New Restaurant Opening Your new favorite food spot — Fika Cafe — opens today in Westhaven. “Fika” is a Swedish term that embodies the idea of “taking a break”, usually with a cup of coffee or tea, and often accompanied by a light snack. The Swedes are happy people and live long so I think they’re on to something here. Open seven days a week, Fika will be a great spot to connect with family, friends, or colleagues. The grand opening is this Saturday. Check out their menu here.

The Force is Growing Stronger Four new police officers have joined the Franklin Police Department. Officers Chris Mattox, Roy Mcfadgon, Nick Ponce, and Austin Porter were sworn in during a ceremony at police headquarters Friday afternoon. Congratulations gentleman. It’s probably a good time to let you know that the unofficial Franklin policy is that you are not allowed to give speeding tickets in the first year on the job.
