Franklin Christmas Tree Lighting on The Square
The City of Franklin is excited to light up the square Friday, December 6th, for the 2024 Christmas Tree Lighting on the Square, one of the best tree lighting events in Middle Tennessee!  Free photos with Santa will be provided beginning at 6pm, with a Pet Friendly hour from 5-6pm.

The headliner, Matthew West, is a five-time GRAMMY® nominee, ASCAP’s 2023 Golden Note Award recipient, and NSAI’s 2022 Songwriter-Artist of the Year. He has received an American Music Award, a Billboard Music Award, K-LOVE Fan Awards, GMA Dove Awards and named Billboard’s Hot Christian Songwriter of the Year. Dubbed “one of Christian music’s most prolific singer-songwriters” by Billboard, West has been awarded RIAA Gold and Platinum certifications and notched 30 number one songs combined as an artist and songwriter.

The Freedom Intermediate School choir, led by Director Candace Adams will return this year to sing holiday favorites.

The Franklin Art Scene will also have the Art Crawl that night happening in many stores from 6-9pm. The Franklin Noon Rotary will hand out free refreshments from the City of Franklin. 

The festivities begin at 6pm. Performances will start at 6:40pm. The tree lighting will take place around 7:15pm.


Berry Farms Holiday Open House
Franklin’s popular Berry Farms development is inviting local residents to get into the holiday spirit with the Berry Farms' Holiday Open House on November 19. This family-friendly event will feature festive train rides throughout the Berry Farms shopping district, with holiday treats and activities and local businesses that will be ready to welcome holiday shoppers from 4pm until 7pm. For added holiday fun, there will be a holiday-themed scavenger hunt. Families can search for hidden elves and, upon finding one, redeem it for prizes.

“We’re excited to welcome the community for a night of holiday fun, complete with free train rides for the whole family," said Lisa Gregory, Boyle’s community development manager. "Berry Farms is truly more than just a shopping destination — it’s a place where people can create lasting memories. We look forward to sharing the magic of the season with all who join us!"

Attendees are encouraged to bring the whole family. Whether you are looking for unique gifts or just a fun outing with loved ones, Berry Farms’ Holiday Open House has something for everyone.


A Way to Give Back This Holiday Season
One Generation Away, a Franklin-based nonprofit dedicated to fighting hunger across Tennessee and beyond, is launching the “Give Thanks, Give a Turkey” drive. Now through November 27, each $25 donation will provide a turkey for a family in need to help ensure that no one misses out on a Thanksgiving meal.

Donors that contribute $25 will be entered into a drawing to win a OneGenAway hat or t-shirt. Those who donate $100 or more will automatically receive their choice of a free OneGenAway hat or t-shirt.

“OneGenAway’s mission is built on the belief that no family should face food insecurity, and during the holidays it is especially meaningful,” says Chris Whitney, Co-Founder of OneGenAway. “It’s more than just providing a family a turkey – it’s about bringing people together and the hope of the holidays.” 

“With each donation, we come closer to our goal of providing every family with the warmth and comfort of a Thanksgiving meal.”

This year's turkey drive continues OneGenAway's tradition of providing thousands of turkeys to families in need each Thanksgiving. Giveaway winners will be notified on December 2, 2024, and donors of $100 or more will be contacted directly to choose their complimentary OneGenAway gear.
