Slice House Opening This Weekend
The popular fast-casual pizzeria, Slice House is set to open in Franklin at 11am on Saturday. The successful pizza franchise was created by the legendary, Tony Gemignani, who will be present at the Grand Opening Event. There will be book signings, raffles to win free pizza for a year, and great pizza!
āIn addition to being the first in Tennessee, this Slice House location will be the furthest east for the brand, representing our commitment to expanding and bringing our artisanal pizzas nationwide,ā says Founder Tony Gemignani. āIt is an honor to partner with our dedicated brand partner, Tyler Ichien, to bring this dream to life and soon offer a delicious and reliable dining option for the Franklin community and its many visitors.ā
Slice House Franklin, franchised and operated by Tyler Ichien, will feature an expansive menu of Gemignaniās famous New York, Sicilian, Grandma, and Detroit style pizzas available by the slice or whole pizza. Gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options will also be available, as well as fresh pasta, wings, and salads. The drink menu will include local craft beers and premium wines, in addition to non-alcoholic sodas and juices. The new dining destination will have indoor seating for forty-five people and a private outdoor patio for sixty-five people. In addition, it will offer takeout, online ordering, and delivery. It will be open seven days a week from 11 am until 9 pm.
āI am very proud to bring the first Slice House by Tony Gemignani to Tennessee and in my hometown of Franklin no less,ā says Ichien. āWith roots in the San Francisco Bay Area, I understand the significance of working with Tony on this venture and I am confident that his award-winning pizzas and other menu items will become staples in Franklin and the surrounding area.ā
Slice Houseās Franklin location will be in downtown Franklin off Main St and 1st Ave, near Culaccino and Culamar. It will be in the same development as Perenn Bakery which will be opening soon.
East McEwen Phase 4
The City of Franklin and its Board of Mayor and Aldermen will break ground on East McEwen Phase 4 Improvements on Friday, April 25th, at 10:30am at the end of Garden Club Court (follow signs for parking). This project will widen and improve East McEwen Drive, from east of the roundabout at Cool Springs Boulevard/Oxford Glen Drive to Wilson Pike (SR-252). The final project will be a median divided, 4-lane road with left-turn lanes as needed. The project will include curb & gutter, sidewalk, a multi-use path, and street lighting. This $45.8M construction project is expected to take three years to complete and will provide significant upgrades to McEwen from the Cool Springs roundabout to Wilson Pike. The city secured over $30M in Federal grant funding for this project.
