HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW FRANKLIN?
Original Plat of Franklin by Abram Maury, Franklin’s Founder
Question: How much did Abram Maury charge in 1799 for one of the 192 half-acre lots in downtown Franklin?
A. $100 (in honor of Benjamin Franklin)
B. $10
C. $1
D. $19.99
The correct answer is B, $10. As if you didn’t feel bad enough already about spending $10 on avocado toast.
Some people wish they could go back in time and buy Bitcoin or Amazon stock. I wish I could go back and scoop up all of Downtown Franklin for a cool $2,000.
